Strawberry Rock Gallery opened its doors in June 2014. The gallery is owned and operated by a mother-daughter team who joined forces to bring together a wonderful space in Trinidad, California to exhibit locally made art and fine crafts.
Suzanne Murphy has been in Humboldt County since the early 1960’s. Throughout her time in Humboldt and traveling afar she discovered a deep love of art. In recent years, Suzanne felt it was time to become more personally involved in the art community of Humboldt County.
Kodi Shinn, Suzanne’s daughter, was born and raised in Humboldt County. She has an MBA Degree from Humboldt State University and is putting her business experience and education to work at the gallery.
The gallery’s name was inspired by the prominent land feature that graces the Trinidad skyline. Being aware that this landmark and the surrounding area have rich Native American heritage, Suzanne and Kodi thought it was fitting to name the gallery after the local rock formation.
This note is to express our gratitude to the community for supporting us in showcasing the diverse local talent. We are so happy that many artists and talented craftspeople have joined with us. Please visit us soon and let us share with you the creativity of the artists that make it all possible.
